CHARLY’S – THE PLACE TO BE

Charly’s history dates back more than a century: it was built in 1912 and later managed by two generations of the Reuteler family. Charly’s is accordingly authentic and rustic, and is still equipped with lots of reclaimed wood and plank flooring.

The restaurant seats 80 people, and up to 60 diners can enjoy the sunshine on the terrace – all year round and right by the pedestrian promenade.

CHARLY’S HEAD CHEF

Local resident, Christian Oberson, has been chef de cuisine since the summer of 2019 and is responsible for tickling our guests’ taste buds.

He had previously worked as the manager of the Berghaus Eggli for 20 years.

He likes cooking with local, Swiss and fresh products.

Paying close attention to detail is important to him, which is reflected in the presentation of his dishes.

CHARLY’S HOME REGION

Charly’s lies in the heart of a truly Alpine region which has maintained its down-to-earth character. There are still about 80 managed Alpine pastures and 200 farms here today. More than 8,000 cows live in the region as a result.

Traditions are kept alive in Gstaad, including at Charly’s.
